Britain is an island between the North Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. No one in England lives more than 120 km (75 miles) from the sea. For people living near the sea, fish and shellfish have always been popular foods.

Nowadays the most popular dish in Britan is... curry! Traditionally has been based on beef, lamb, pork, chicken and fish.

Traditional foods with ancient origins are matched by potatoes, tomatoes and chillies, spices and curries and stir fries. Britain continues to absorb culinary ideas from America, India, Bangladesh, China, Thailand and also now France and Italy, from all over the world.
